HSEQ Inspections Setup > Adding/Removing Issue Types

The HammerTech system makes the logging of Safety Issues easier by allowing users to configure the Issue Types, including custom fields for raising and closing out the issues of that type.

To create an Issue Type:

  • Log into HammerTech (if you are not already logged in), then navigate using the left hand menu > ADMINISTRATION > Issue Types
  • Select the 'Add New' button in the top right corner
  • Type the name for the Issue Type (e.g Safety; Environmental; or Defect, etc...)
  • Hidden from Main List means the inspection type will not show at all for selection when creating a new inspection
  • Select if the Employer (Subcontractor) is allowed to create this type of issue by selecting the tick-box (This will apply to issues raised in inspections and ADHOC issues) 
  • Select if you want inducted Workers to be allowed to raise this Issue Type - workers are currently able to complete equipment inspections and raise issues if they have been assigned (see Worker Created Equipment Inspections)
  • Select if you want the issue type hidden from Adhoc Issues - this means the issue type can only be raised as part of an inspection.
  • Select if this Issue can be raised in Meetings and/or Incidents
  • Add any custom fields required (See 'HSEQ Inspections Setup > Adding Custom Fields for Issue Types')
  • Then select the 'Create' button at the bottom of the page

To remove an Issue Type:

  • Log into HammerTech (if you are not already logged in), then navigate using the left hand menu > ADMINISTRATION > Issue Types
  • Select the issue you wish to remove
  • Select the blue action button in the top right corner
  • Select 'Delete'
  • Note: When you delete an Issue Type, it will not remove it from existing inspections that have the Issue Type assigned, it will only remove the ability to assign it to future inspections
