To create a New Observation:
- Log into HammerTech
- Select your required project from the Company Overview drop-down in the top right hand corner
- Navigate, using the left hand menu, clicking on Observations
- In the drop down that appears, click on Create New
Lock function: You can lock any field that has a padlock slider above it. Locking a field is used when you are going to create another observation immediately after this one, and want to carry over the locked fields to the next observation. This is helpful as you will not have to select these fields again, they will populate with the same selections from the previous drop down.
-
- Upload Photos
Note: You can upload up to 10 photos per observation; these can be selected via file explorer, or dragged and dropped onto the screen. For mobile devices and tablets, the selector will go to the photo selector for the device, including the option to take a photo.
- Select the Observation Type
Note: You can search for items in the drop down list by typing in the Select field.
- Select the Classification, which can be Negative, Neutral or Positive
Note: The available options will vary depending on the Observation.
- Add a Description
Note: You can utilise templates to save time.
- Select a Location
Note: Where a location has a hierarchy, you will see an arrow > that will take you to the next level.
- Select an Assignee
Note: Observations can be raised against an Employer or an Internal User.
Note: Additional Employers/Internal Users can be added by selecting Add Another.
Note: If you select a Function, this may reduce the list of Employers available in the Assignee list (see Company > Configure and Assign Functions to Employers).
- Select whether the Observation is for something Not Yet Resolved OR Already Resolved
Note: If you select Already Resolved, you can add photos to the Require a fix photo section.
- Select a Priority
- Select a Due Date
Note: This will be automatically entered based on the Priority selected, but can be changed if needed.
Note: You can also select a number of days instead of a date.
- Click Create
- Upload Photos
If you need to create multiple observations, make sure to switch on the Add Another toggle - this will bring you back to a new observation creation screen without going to the main menu, and keep any setting you locked while creating the first observation.
