Configure / View / Delete Observation Types
In the Administration menu, there is a sub menu called Observation Types. This is where you go to review and edit existing Observation Types, as well as create new Observation Types.
You can select from the below menu to jump directly to that section

VIEWING OBSERVATION TYPES
When viewing Observation Types, you will find a number of helpful info and functionality to assist.
These are as follows...
COLUMNS:
Colour: this is customisable to add a visual cue to help quickly find what they are looking for.
Name: This is the name of the Observation Type, added when the Observation was created.
Category: This is the Category selected when the Observation was created.

Classification: This is the Classification selected when the Observation was created.
Can create: This indicates if this Observation Type can be created by Workers and/or Subcontractors.
USING FILTERS TO VIEW:
All Categories: This allows you to filter the view by Observation Categories
All Classifications: This allows you to filter the view by Observation Classifications
CREATING OBSERVATION TYPES
- Log into HammerTech
- Select Administration from the left hand menu
- Select Observation Types
- Select the blue '+' in the top right hand corner
- Select the Observation Category from the drop-down list if applicable
Information on creating Observation Categories can be found HERE - Type the Name for the Observation Type (e.g. Safety; Environmental; or Defect, etc...)
- Select a Colour (optional)
- Select the Observation Classification (optional)
- Select the Priority (optional)
- Select if this Observation can be raised in Observations Module, Incidents, Meetings, Custom Sections and Pre-Task Plans (optional)
Site Diary Meetings, Incidents, Custom Sections, Pre-Task Plans, and/or Daily Report - Select if the Employer (Subcontractor) is allowed to create this type of Observation (This will apply to Observations raised in inspections and Observations)
- Select if you want inducted Workers to be allowed to raise this Observation Type. Workers are currently able to complete equipment inspections and raise Observations if they have been assigned (see Worker Created Equipment Inspections)
- Create any Custom Fields for Raising and/or Closeout (click HERE for more info)
- Select 'Create' button at the bottom of the page
ADDING CUSTOM FIELDS FOR RAISING and/or CLOSEOUT
- Select the 'Add Field' button
- Enter a name for the Custom Field
- Select the type of field from the drop-down menu
- Select if the 'Field is Compulsory' (Here you can also move the field up or down and delete it if required. The arrows pointing towards a horizontal line will allow you to send the question to either the very top or bottom of the page.)
- Move the Custom Field up or down your list using the up and down arrows
- Expand 'Permissions' to set up who has access to either view or edit the field
- Expand 'Permissions' to change the report data for that field
- Continue to add more fields as required fields as required
DELETING OBSERVATION TYPES
To delete an existing Observation Type
- Go to Administration then Observation Types
- Select the Observation Type you wish to delete
- Click Options in the top right corner
- Select Delete
