Create a New Observation

To Create a New Observation:

1. Log into HammerTech
2. Select your required project from the Company Overview drop-down in the top right hand corner
3. Navigate, using the left hand menu, clicking on Observations
4. In the drop down that appears, click on Create New
5. Select the Observation Type
6. Tick Positive or Negative depending on the Observation
7. Select the Responsible Party
   1. Note: If there are Functions set up in the system, you can select the relevant option from the first drop down, which will then filter the list of employers, (see Company > Configure and Assign Functions to Employers)
   2. Note: Observations can be raised against a Subcontractor or an Internal User by selecting the required option from the drop down menu. Additional companies can be added where there is more than one responsible party, by selecting '+Add Additional Responsible Party'
   3. Note: When selecting an Internal User, if they do not appear in the drop down list please check that they have been given access to that particular Project. This is done via Administration > User Management.

1. Select the Observations Location (To set up locations see Project > Setting Up Location Hierarchies)
2. Select the Priority
3. Select if the Observations is Already Resolved
4. Enter the Due Date (This will automatically be entered based on the Priority but can be changed)
5. Select if it Require Fix Photo?
6. Enter in a Description of the Observation
   1. If Pre-Defined Templates have been set up you can select one from the drop-down box (See How Do I Set Up Predefined Defect Templates?)
7. Add any photos of the Observation and annotate them if required
8. Click on Create

To export to PDF:

1. Log into HammerTech
2. Select your required project from the Company Overview drop-down in the top right hand corner
3. Navigate, using the left hand menu, clicking on Observations
4. In the drop down that appears, click on Open Observations
5. Find the Observations from the list and select Edit
6. In the top right corner, click on Download -> Then select the PDF Icon
