As a General Contractor, you may allow Subcontractors to engage another subcontractors to complete work on their behalf.
In this article, the subcontractor will be referred to as the Parent Employer and the subcontracted subcontractor will be referred to as the Child Employer.
You (the General Contractor) may want to keep the information about the subcontractors separate, in two individual Employer profiles OR you may not want this and advise the Parent Subcontractor to load all relevant Child Subcontractor info (workers, SWMS, etc) via the Parent Subcontractors existing account.
Using a separate Child Employer profile:
-
Workers can complete their registration and induction under the Child Employer
-
The Child Employer can upload their own insurance/licence details
-
The Child Employer can have their own Primary Contacts/Nominated Representatives
-
JHAs can be assigned to the Child Employer
Creating a separate Child Employer profile:
Note: When creating a Child Employer, by linking the Parent Employer to them, it will only add a note to the Child Employer's profile that its insurance is from the Parent Employer, it doesn't give access to the Child Employer's profile, and vice versa.
Note: for someone from the Parent Employer to have access to the Child Employer, they will need to be added as a Primary Contact or Nominated Representative to the Child Employer's account.
