Within the HammerTech Administration section you have the capability to access records of certain transactions that have taken place in your system. This is done by using the Audit Log tool that can be found in Administration under the System menu.
As HammerTech has numerous variables in relation to how data is created, modified and saved, the audit log has many different filters that can applied to refine your search. Below you find a high level overview of these filters and some basic advice on how to use the Audit Log tool.

ACCESS
To access the Audit Log tool you need to have an Admin role on your profile.
- Log into HammerTech
- In the left hand navigation menu, click on Administration
- Once the Admin pages loads, look under the System menu and click on Audit Log
FILTER / SEARCH
By default, ALL records will load, so this is where you now need to filter through the data.
- Click on the Filter button in the top right corner
- A pop up will appears with a large number of sections that you can apply filters to
- Click on any of the Sections in order to expand them and view all the corresponding Filters
- Select the Filter/s you wish to apply
NOTE: you can select multiple filters from multiple sections - Once you have selected the appropriate Filter, scroll to the bottom and click Apply
- After clicking Apply, the list of results displayed will reload with the Filter applied
GLOSSARY
Here is an overview of the Sections and Filters to assist you with your refinement.
Sections:
Project | A list of all Projects (both active and archived) |
Module | A variety of different modules, including some sub modules |
Log | All the different actions a User could take in the system |
Verb | A specific filter that relates to viewing vs editing data |
Permission | Different permission logs the system records against actions |
Date Range | The date range you wish to filter the results to |
Requested By | The emails associated with all the Users in your system |
Response | The systems response to a Users requested action |
Source | A list of sources that define how a User accessed your HammerTech system |

There are a vast number of Filters available within these sections, so we will list the most useful below. However, if you still can't find what you are looking for, please have a scroll through all the filters to see if there is something more specific to suit your search.

INTERPRETING RESULTS
Interpreting the results can sometimes be a little tricky, here are some examples.
Example one > Who deleted a User from your system?
In this example we are looking for who deleted a User from your system.
We used the following Sections and Filters to find this information
SECTION / FILTER
Module / Personnel
Log / Delete
Verb / Post
You can see below that it lists any Users who have been deleted on any Project.
ID is the unique ID relating to the deleted Worker / Employee.
Date & Time shows when it happened.
Requested by shows the logged-in User who deleted the Worker / Employee.
Example two:
In this example we are looking for information on who cleared a SWMS review.
We used the following Sections and Filters to find this information
SECTION / FILTER
Module / JHAs
Log / Clear SWMS Review (SWMS = JHA)
Verb / Post
You can see below that the results list any Users who have cleared an approved JHAs.
ID is the unique ID relating to the cleared JHA.
Date & Time shows when it happened.
Requested by shows the logged-in User who cleared the JHA.
