USING OUT OF THE BOX INSIGHTS
Out of the box we include a variety of insights that users can use. These are listed on the left hand side of the Insights editor (seen after you drag an Insight onto a new Dashboard). To use any of these out of the box insights you can drag and drop them into the editor.

Create a new Dashboard OR edit an existing Dashboard

On the left hand side, search OR filter available Insights

Drag the required Insight into the middle of the Dashboard

Add more Insights as needed
- Once you have built the Dashboard, click Save
CREATING CUSTOM INSIGHTS
If users wish to dive into more complex reporting and wish to report on numbers or visuals not currently provided as part of the standard templates, they can configure their own insights.
Insights are visualisations. If users decide that they want to view a specific insight as a different type of graph instead of the out of the box provided visual, they can configure this themselves.

Create a new Dashboard OR edit an existing Dashboard

On the left hand side, within the New Item list, click and drag an Insight onto the dashboard
- This will trigger the Analytical Designer to open

Select the type of insight you wish to use from the left hand side menu

Drag the Insight from the left panel into the centre panel

Edit and format where required

Select save in the top right corner
VISUALISE YOUR DATA
In Analytical Designer, you can take your data and visualise them in various types of visualisations.
You can:
- Analyze facts that represent quantitative data
- Analyze metrics that represent quantitative data
- Analyze attributes that represent qualitative data
- Switch among different types of insights. For details
- Drag data from your Data Catalogue to any active drop zone on the canvas to start creating your insight
- Drag data from these zones back to Data Catalogue to remove them from your insight
- Create ad hoc metrics using basic arithmetic functions. For details
- Drag the Date or any attribute to the bar to filter your data, or click the filter button to select attributes from your insight. For details
- Recommendations help you modify your insight based on common usage patterns
- Configure your insight - change colours, modify axes, legends, and canvas. For details
- Navigate between steps or clear your insight
- Save your insight
- Export your insights into files for further analysis. For details about exports, see Export Insights
